Fulham midfielder on verge of Galatasaray loan switch

Fulham midfielder Jean Michel Seri is closing in on a move to Galatasaray.

The 27-year-old is set to join the Turkish giants on an initial loan deal with a view to a permanent move, according to a report by Inside Futbol.

Seri, who is an Ivory Coast international with 28 caps to his name, only joined the Cottagers last summer from French Ligue 1 side Nice but could not prevent them from relegation from the Premier League. He signed a four-year deal at Craven Cottage.

He started his career in his native country with Africa Sports d’Abidjan before he joined ASEC Mimosas as a youngster in 2010. Seri was signed on loan by FC Porto’s B team three years later and played 19 times for them in the Portuguese Segunda division.

Seri was then snapped up by Primeira Liga side Pacos de Ferreira and spent two years playing for them, making 68 appearances altogether.

Nice swooped to sign him in 2015 and he established himself as a key player for the French outfit. He played 123 times for them and scored 12 goals along the way.

Fulham saw off plenty of competition to land him this time last year and he was seen as a massive coup by the newly promoted side. However, his move to London has not worked out and he is set to leave the club already.

Scott Parker’s side will be keen on replacing him as soon as possible in preparation for next season.
